About Welland Valley Vets

“Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.”

– George Eliot

At Welland Valley Vets (formerly Clear Ridge Vets), we’re more than just animal lovers—we’re a team of experienced veterinary professionals who treat your pets like family. As a small, independent, community-focused practice, we pride ourselves on building relationships rooted in honesty, kindness, and trust.

We believe great veterinary care goes beyond medicine. It’s about listening carefully, speaking openly, and always doing what’s right, because integrity and transparency matter just as much as clinical expertise. Whether it’s a routine checkup, a health concern, or simply reassurance, we take the time to talk openly, explain clearly, and make decisions alongside you, because you know your pet best.

No pressure, no confusion—just straightforward care from people who genuinely care.

Beyond grateful of the sheer kindness and care Rachael and her team provided for my Cocker (and me) when she took ill suddenly. Truly went the extra mile to see her at short notice and provided the best care over 7 hours. As a result I will now become a permanent client as the personal touch really gave me calm in a very stressful situation. Thank you so much. Karen & Winnie

A truly exceptional vets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We honestly cannot thank Welland Valley Vets enough for the incredible care they have given our beautiful Beau. From the very beginning, they have been absolutely exceptional. Beau has been undergoing investigations for allergies, and throughout the whole process we have felt completely supported. Nothing is ever too much trouble. They always take the time to listen, talk everything through with us and explain things clearly. What has really touched us is the level of care and attention they have given Beau as an individual. They even went the extra mile to arrange a specific vaccination suited to her particular allergies, with the aim of making her more comfortable. After her first injection, they kept her in for observation to make absolutely sure she was okay, which gave us such reassurance. After her most recent visit, Beau came out exceptionally happy, which says everything about how wonderful the team are with her. 🐾❤️ The care, compassion and service we have received has been genuinely unbelievable. We feel so lucky to have such a kind and caring team looking after Beau. Thank you, Welland Valley Vets, for everything you do. We truly appreciate every single one of you. You are exceptional. ❤️

Rachel is a wonderful vet, who really listens to your concerns as an owner. She has been a huge support for my German Shepherd who has hip dysplasia. The support team are also a joy to deal with. If you are looking for an independent vet (which is a rare find these days), then consider Welland Valley Vets. You will not be disappointed.

I cannot recommend this veterinary service enough. So caring in every way, the staff behind the desk, always helpful , as are all the nurses. Rachel is a wonderful vet in every way, kind caring & I have total trust in her. I wouldn’t take my dogs anywhere else. Highly recommend.

I can’t thank Welland Valley Vets enough for their care. My two cats became very unwell and I needed to get them to a vet quickly. This isn’t my usual practice, but I was made to feel like it was. Rachel, all the veterinary nurses and receptionists are so friendly and welcoming. It was a very worrying time and one cat in particular had to go in 4 times in the same week. Rachel made me feel calm and made my cats feel safe. No stone was left unturned in trying to get to the bottom of what was wrong. If you are looking for a veterinary practice in the area, look no further than Welland Valley! Their care, compassion and professionalism is second to none!

Lovely practice all the staff very friendly and compassionate. My dog isn’t a fan of vets and they accommodated his quirks and treated him for a TPLO which has healed very well. Highly recommend and Lemmy liked them as much as he’s going to like a vet practice!

Great experience with our male Mini Lop Rabbit, Gus. Lovely, friendly and caring staff, including the receptionist. Castration procedure explained fully before operation, and aftercare explained clearly afterwards, helping to give us peace of mind. Back for a free nurse check today and fitted with his post-op t-shirt! Very reasonably priced vets and would highly recommend. Thank you! 😊

We recently took our english bulldog Miika to Welland Valley Vets for her spay procedure, and we could not be happier with the care she received. The whole team was incredibly kind, professional, and reassuring from start to finish. Miika was so well looked after during her stay, and it was lovely to receive updates, photos, and a follow-up check-in call afterwards. She is recovering beautifully, and it is clear how much genuine care and attention the nursing team gave her throughout. Thank you to everyone at Welland Valley Vets for taking such wonderful care of Miika — we truly appreciate it and would highly recommend you to other pet owners.

Thanks to all the fantastic team at Clear Ridge. Woody our very much loved Tabby cat has survived major surgery last weekend, thanks to Robert the vet, and all the teams care and attention. Woody felt very much like a VIP! So glad to get him back home!
